ISLAMABAD (APP) - Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Imtiaz Inayat Elahi Friday ordered the concerned authorities to adopt proper safety measures for the visitors, boat riders at Rawal Lake. He said that boats with assurance of all precautionary safety and environment-friendly measures would be allowed to operate in the Rawal Lake and those boats/sport boats without the approval of CDA would not be allowed to operate from the Rawal Lake premises. He said that the boat riders should be given life jackets and they should be properly be advised about boating in Dam. He said the licenses of the boat owners would be cancelled if they fail to meet the set criteria. He said this during his visit to Lake View Park. The Chairman also directed to cancel the licenses of khokhas within the premises of Lake View Park if they dont maintain cleanliness and causing littering in the park. He said that the cleanliness in the park must be improved to preserve the beautification of it. He directed the concerned departments to keep a vigilant eye on the shops, khokhas for maintaining the cleanliness. He also directed that all kind of encroachments may be removed from the park to keep it in its genuine shape. The Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) was also briefed about the Bird Aaviry Mesh in the natural environment. He directed the concerned quarters to provide natural environment for the birds for their best growth. He also visited and inspected the ongoing work on Phase-I of the Lake View Park Project, where he was briefed about the project. The Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) directed the department concerned for completion of the projects well in time as per international standard and high quality. 15 illegal rooms razed, 5 boats seized The Directorate of Enforcement, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has demolished 15 illegal rooms and 15 boundary walls in various parts of the capital besides confiscating five boats being operated illegally in Rawal Lake. While taking action against the illegal construction and encroachment, the authority razed nine rooms, six boundary walls in sector I-11 and five rooms and two boundary walls at Saidpur Model village. Similarly, two rooms and two boundary walls were demolished at Bari Imam and one each rooms at Mera Bari and sector D-11. The authority also confiscated five boats being operated illegally at Rawal Lake. As many as seven person were challaned and notices were served on four persons for encroachment.
