LAHORE - Three senior patrol officers of National Highways & Motorway Police died in a road accident at Jamber near Lahore here on Saturday. The three officers including Senior Patrol Officer (SPO) Muhammad Qasim, SPO Adnan Gul and SPO Rana Imtiaz of central zone, deputed on mobile education unit of NH&MP, were coming back at about 1:00 pm after delivering lecture on road safety in a factory of Bhai Pheru. SPO Muhammad Qasim was driving the mobile education unit van (IDP-2601). When they reached on GT Road in the area of Police Station Phool Nagar, a loaded trailer on the way to Multan from Lahore went uncontrolled and hit the van while crossing the mediation on the other side of the road. As a result of which Muhammad Irfan and Rana Imtiaz were expired on spot whereas SPO Adnan Gul died on the way to hospital. SPO Qasim was selected for UN Mission and was supposed to leave after Eidul Fitter. DIG of Central Zone Syed Ibn-e- Hussain also visited the site of accident. Their funeral prayer was jointly offered at Police Lines of NH&MP at Thoker Niaz Beg. DIG Ibn-e-Hussain, SSP Aftab Mehsud, Commandant NH&MP Training Institute Jehanzeb Jogzai among large number of other officers/official attended the Namaz-e-Janaza. Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan and IG NH&MP Dr Wasim Kausar offered their condolences and grief with the families of the shaheed officers.
