LAHORE - Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Lahore on Saturday announced Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examination 2010 with overall percentage of 51 per cent. As per results, boys grabbed all first two positions while third position was secured by a girl. Over all girls outshined as 68,558 girls appeared out of which 42,081 were declared successful with 61.38 pass percentage whereas 72,909 boys appeared but only 31,420 were declared successful with pass percentage of 43.09. Total 1,41,467 students were appeared in the examination out of whom 37,501 were declared pass. Out of total 37 top positions in different disciplines, Government College University (GCU) remained at top by securing 10 positions while Punjab Group of Colleges could obtain second by winning six positions and Superior College got four positions. Kinnaird College for Women could grab three positions and FC only two. It is worth mentioning here that total 1,44,592 candidates applied to appear in the examination but about 3,000 candidates could not appear due to one reason or the others, said statistics issued by BISE. As per details, Muhammad Ali Aun (Roll number 7385), from GCU got 1,041 marks out of 1100 and stood first overall in the examination; Samran Asim (7386) of GCU stood second by achieving 1,031 marks and Maryam (6055) from KIPS Intermediate Girls College Johar Town Lahore grabbed third potion by obtaining 1,030 marks. In Pre-medical group among boys Muhammad Ali Aun and Samran Asim stood first and second while third position was grabbed by three students by achieving 1,020 marks including Noman Khadim (9009), Muhammad Junaid Alvi (7352) and Rana Adil Framan (7357). Among girls in Pre-Medical group, Maryam from GCU got first position by achieving 1,030 marks while second position was attained by two students of Kinnaird College including Izzah Javed (2458) and Maryam Afzal (2485) who got 1,029 marks and Arfa Ahmad (2558) stood third by getting 1,026 marks. Among boys in Pre-Engineering group among boys Hassan Iftikhar (22037) got 1,021 marks and stood first. Second position was achieved by three students Muhammad Umar (19581) of GCU and Saqib Ahmad of Suffa Educational Complex Okara and Hammad Shakil (22028) who got 1,020 marks while third position was obtained by Saud Ahmad (18129) of Superior College Okara by getting 1,019 marks. Among girls in Pre-Engineering group, Sumaiyya Farooq (15800) from Lahore College of Women University and Hafiza Sidra Iqbal (15081) from Kasur obtained 1,012 marks and stood first. Maryam Aslam (15907) from LCWU grabbed second position while third position went to two students Munazza Fatima and Iqra Sibghatullah of Punjab College for Women Muslim Town Morr who got 1,009 marks.
