SIALKOT - The PML-N AJK has urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to freeze Rs150 billion allocated for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) as the PPP intends to use the funds for drumming up support for the upcoming general elections in the country.
Former AJK Legislative Assembly speaker and PML-N AJK General Secretary Shah Ghulam Qadir state this while addressing a press conference here at Sialkot Press Club on Tuesday. MLAs Ch Muhammad Ishaq, Ch Muhammad Ismail, Ch Muhammad Hussain and Shaukat Ali were also present on the occasion.
Shah Ghulam Qadir claimed that the PML-N firmly believed that the PPP would use the BISP funds for rigging in the general election. He alleged that the PPP government had put the Kashmir issue into cold storage by ignoring the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri freedom fighters. The PML-N AJK stalwart alleged that the PPP government in AJK, like in Islamabad, was committing corruption records as it had as many as 122 advisors for a total of 5 million population of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The PPP government in AJK has embezzled Rs350 million through different tactics,” he claimed.
He also announced Rs0.5 million grant for Sialkot Press Club.
