KARACHI – All Pakistan Muslim League of former Army chief Pervaiz Musharraf has welcomed the announcement made by President Asif Ali Zardari regarding the holding of local government election. He said that it was proved that the local government system introduced by Pervaiz Musharaf was better for the peopleIn a statement issued here on Tuesday, Aasia Ishaque, Central Secretary Information APML said that Pervaiz Musharraf’s policies were in the favor of country, if rulers would have continue these, the country would have been on track of real development.She said that All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) is working hard and preparing for the next general election and would won the election with the grace of Almighty Allah and the support of people.She said that Punjab government had launched baseless propaganda against the local government system and they alleged that Nazims had embezzled millions of rupees but they (Punjab government) failed to prove even corruption of a single penny in this regard, she added.Aasia apprised that common people got unlimited benefits through the local government system of Musharraf and problems were resolved at their doorsteps. While, in this (current) setup, people are running following the Members of Parliament for the solution of their problems but they are not in approach of common people, she added.Aasia said that APML is preparing for the general election so that government should hold this as per schedule as APML could contest and won election for the service of common people.She said that government has made confused to the people of the Country as they are now recalling to Pervaiz Mushraf”s golden era. Pervaiz Mushraf would come back very soon and would hold the rains of the country again in the larger interest of the nation, she concluded.Diminishing number of male medical students worries PIMA: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) Karachi chapter here Monday expressed concern on diminishing interest of boys in medical profession, due to which almost all medical colleges have more female students than male students. PIMA said that the current situation of male, female doctor ratio will badly affect the existing medical service delivery system. It said more male doctors are required keeping in view the constant emergency like situation in all major hospitals of country. The low salaries & insecure future as a doctor has already caused a huge impact upon interest of boys in medical education.PIMA warned that if a prompt action is not taken now, it will be too late to rectify the catastrophe in healthcare provision in both public & private sector, as there should be sufficient number male doctors to cater the healthcare needs of people. PIMA also expressed concern on the dissolution of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) and the formation of six-member committee to look into important affairs of medical colleges in the country. It said this step seems to secure the interests of the owners of private medical colleges. PIMA appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of very serious matter as the entire healthcare system is on the stake. It warned that if the situation remains same the medical education in this country would be only available to the children of wealthy and elite people.Meanwhile, no delay in the development works would be tolerated. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Social Welfare, Begum Nargis ND Khan here on Tuesday.She was reviewing the construction work of Darul Atfal in Korangi here.The project is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs310 million. The minister directed the concerned officials that the project be completed within the stipulated time. She warned that no dereliction would be tolerated in this very regard.At Darul Atfal there will be facilities for impartation of education etc as well as for the lodging of the children.FUUAST equivalent certificate exam:  Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Monday announced registration schedule of special exam for equivalent certificate for seminary students.The students having degree of Shahadat-e-Aalia, the students of seminaries registered with Higher Education Commission (HEC) and non-graduate (DHMS) students could get equivalent certificate by appearing in special exam in four graduate level papers: Islamiat, English, Pakistan Studies and Urdu.The students could deposit their registration forms along with free of Rs2000 up to September 29, 2012.
