VEHARI - A man was killed and two other injured in a dispute over water distribution here the other day. On the other hand, the incident was ensued by a vehement protest by the locals, demanding the police to take action against the culprits.

According to the source, three people sustained injuries over an enmity on water allocation. Mohammad Kharral, Zafar Iqbal Kharral, Muhammad Amin and Muhammad Yasin, residents of Kot Ghulam Qaddar were irrigating their land.

Meanwhile, Aftab Chattha and Sajjid Chattha allegedly came there in car and bikes and opened fire on them as result of which they all sustained bullet wounds and were taken to DHQ Hospital. On the way Mohammad Kharal succumbed to his wounds while the other two were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, a large number of locals staged a demonstration against the incident by placing the dead body on the road. They demand the DPO to provide justice to the bereaved. In the mean time, Luddon Police SHO Falak Sher Bhatti rushed to the spot and assured the protesters of stern action against the accused at which the protesters dispersed.
