KARACHI – Sindh Excise & Taxation Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that under a scheme Rs52 million has been spent in construction and renovation works at religious buildings of minorities in Sindh.  This he said while talking to media men here at his camp office on Tuesday. He said that through this project construction and renovation works were done at Baba Gharib Das, Darbar Ghouspur, Daharki Bhitshala Kashmore, Community Hall and Heranand Darbar, Wadi Darbar Kashmore, Gurdwara Kashmore, Rachi Kani Shadi Massan Kandhkot, Eidgah Kandhkot, Temple Shankar Bhagwan Kandhkot and other places at the cost of Rs52 million. The Provincial Minister said that the present democratic government, following the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, had committed to protect the rights and religious buildings of minorities. He added, “Minorities have got full protection in constitution of Pakistan. No migration of Hindus is taking place in Sindh. Such type of news is baseless and the purpose behind this is to defame Pakistan.”Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that PPP was a democratic party and having being afraid of its popularity, the leaders of Muslim League (N) were doing propaganda. They had seen their clear defeat in coming general elections. They would not be able to do anything but will face defeat in their ulterior motives.
