Only resignation issue stands unresolved: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD- Former interior minister Rehman Malik has said political jirga was mandated to end deadlock and 90 percent matters have been resolved and only the issue of resignation stands unresolved.

He said this while talking to media men here outside the parliament house today. He held that “Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had promised to extend cooperation at personal level and he is doing so.” He underlined that the nation would soon get good news. If the government pursues 20 percent of reconciliation policy of former president Asif Ali Zardari then the matters will stand addressed.

Proceedings of parliament had pained us, he said adding if those from whom we were to seek guidance start pelting stones on us then from whom we will get guidance. Proceedings of parliament have shaken the confidence of nation, he added. The sanctity of parliament should be maintained at every cost, he urged.

He held key to problems does not lie with batons and bullets. Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri should go for ceasefire and go back one step. Due to this ego, Chinese president has cancelled his visit to Pakistan, he added.
