The continuing imbroglio between the government and protesters has brought home an important lesson. The protesters’ reaction, when confronted by army troops was different than when they faced the police. Whereas the protesters are infuriated at the very sight of invading policemen, they disperse peacefully, when tactfully confronted by soldiers. This shows complete breakdown of police control of the crowds. The police ought to be removed from the area, to bring peace back among the peaceful protestors. Only the deployment of army can solve the sordid problem of the ongoing pitched battles between police and the emotionally charged crowd of protesters. Only the army can save the day, as no amount of dialogue between the protesters and government seems to have borne fruit so far.
