London: Meghan Trainor has posted photos on Instagram to show that she’s recovering after having surgery on her throat.
The singer, who’s had hits with All about That Bass and Lips Are Movin, was forced to cancel her US tour in August because of a vocal cord haemorrhage. In her post she said: “My before and after pics. I look so hurt. I survived tho! Now napping on the couch with mama and getting free head rubs.” She was told she needed surgery after postponing several shows on her tour. After cancelling her MTrain tour the 21-year-old said: “I am determined to do what it takes to get better and come back around stronger than ever.”–BBC
Sam Smith and Jess Glynne have both had vocal cord problems in recent months. In 2011, Adele also had to cancel tour dates because of ongoing problems with her voice. She had microsurgery to fix the issue. Before this, ‘We made out eight times that day. Me and Charlie watched it over and over again. We look good! It’s blowing up!’
Just the night before, Meghan performed at nearby Boston for the latest stop on her M Train tour. She took to her social media pages to share some of her favorite moments including many photos with her family and childhood best friends.
‘I feel like I’m back at home, I used to do this all the time,’ she explained in the same radio interview. ‘I was getting real nervous, my family was there. I got emotional, cried twice on stage. I could see my dad’s bright shiny teeth in the crowd, I was like “There he is.”‘
Meghan captioned a recent Instagram photo from the show: ‘BOSTON (closest place to hometown) had me feelin like a SUPERSTAR last night! I cried twice on stage! The energy was insane! Thank you to all of our friends and family who made the trip from Nantucket or Cape Cod! It makes me so happy seeing familiar faces I love you all so much.’
