Present trend of advertisements with an emphasis on presenting Indian film actresses, cricketers, irrelevant actors, etc., and less or negligible introduction of product qualities are wasteful in my humble opinion. Viewers should know what is good in a product to buy, particularly high cost items like cellphones. I wonder if anyone would buy an expensive cellphone just because an Indian actress is shown in the advertisement.
It is in the interest of both the sellers and buyers if advertisements highlight salient features of products appropriate for the prospective buyers instead of showing costly personalities or irrelevant / distasteful actions.
