SIALKOT -Police recovered a chained labourer from the illegal confinement of his brick kiln owner and his accomplices after the four days of his abduction.

Abdul Latif, 42, a donkey cart vendor, worked at the kiln of Naveed Anjum in village Mundeyki Beriyaan-Badiana, Pasrur tehsil. Due to the increasing work load, the labourer fell ill and the owner forced him to continue work at his kiln despite being ill.

Latif told the police that he was going to a clinic for medication on September 01,2016 when the Naveed and Sylvester Maseeh forcibly kidnapped him and bundled him their car at gunpoint. He added that the accused took him to an old deserted poultry shed near Badiana. He alleged that Naveed and his three other companions Nasir Mehmood, Farman Ali and Farhan Ali, chained him for four days and tortured him brutally with iron rods, wooden sticks, iron chains and forced him to do labour at their kiln.

DPO Abid Khan added that on a tip-off, a special police team led by SHO Badiana police station Saeed Hunjra and sub inspector Ashraf, raided the poultry farm shed and recovered him. He added that the police have also arrested three accused Nasir Mehmood , Farman Ali and Farhan Ali recovering the ironed chains, iron rods and wooden stick from there.

He said that on the report of the victim, the Badiana police have registered a case (No 264/2016) under sections 365, 342, 148 and 149 PPC against the accused and sent them behind bars. He said that the main accused owner of the bricks kiln would also be arrested soon. Meanwhile, the DPO has announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the raiding police team.
