LAHORE - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has lost the right to stay in power after the allegations in the Panama Papers, say PPP (Workers) President Dr Safdar Abbasi and his spouse Naheed Khan, who remained political secretary to assassinated prime minister Benazir Bhutto for a long time.

Talking to the media yesterday, Dr Abbassi suggested the PML-N parliamentary party to elect a new leader of the house. However, he regretted the entire government machinery was busy devising the ways and means to clear the prime minister and his family from the Panama papers allegations.

He alleged that PM Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari were cooperating with each other under an agreement.

Referring to Imran Khan’s call to Zardari to join hands with him, Dr Abbasi said how the PTI chief would be able to launch a campaign against corruption after seeking cooperation from such a corrupt man.

Dr Abbasi alleged that a mafia was running the country. “If Zardari was a retailer, Mian Nawaz Sharif is a wholesale dealer,” he said while comparing the two leaders.

He added the PML-N chief would be left with no justification to seek votes in elections as his wealth was lying in foreign countries.
