18th Amendment good for economy

LAHORE (APP) - The 18th amendment will strengthen democracy and enable the government to focus on economic uplift of a common man as envisaged by President of Pakistan in his address to the joint session of the parliament on Monday. This was stated by President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Zafar Iqbal Choudhary talking to APP. He hoped that the government would implement the road map for economic uplift, given by President Zardari in his address in letter and spirit for economic turnaround in the country. He said President Zardari has emerged as first President in the history of Pakistan who himself surrendered his authorities and initiated the constitutional amendments package in shape of 18th amendment. He said President Zardari in his speech has acknowledged that the prices have risen, and incomes squeezed. Referring to Presidents remarks We have to give solutions and move on and ... I am confident that we will overcome the challenges left to us by the previous regimes, are reflective of his pragmatic approach towards dealing the issues and getting desired results, he added.
