SRINAGAR (AFP) - Indian police killed one freedom fighter and injured another as the pair allegedly attempted to assassinate a politician in Kashmir, officials said Monday. The two freedom fighters stormed into his residence but alert police guards repulsed the attack by killing one and injuring another, police officer Farooq Ahmed said. The politician, Abdul Gani Dar, is a local leader of Indias ruling Congress party in Pulwama district. The injured fighter escaped after the incident on Sunday evening.
