TCP to entertain only pre-qualified suppliers

KARACHI (APP) - Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) said Monday that only pre-qualified suppliers will be eligible to participate in the tenders for all its future purchases. This decision was taken at the meeting of board of directors (BOD) of the Corporation held here Monday. The meeting also decided that in order to ensure strict adherence to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules and to maintain complete transparency in the operational activities, henceforth, all bids will be invited only from pre-qualified suppliers for all procurement and services. It was decided that the process of pre-qualification of suppliers of different commodities will remain open at all times and any interested party can enlist with the TCP to ensure maximum participation by suppliers. In this regard, a public notice inviting applications from interested parties will also be issued in the national press soon. In pursuance to Cabinet decision for restructuring of state enterprises, TCP board decided to enlarge its current composition from 5 to 10 members including private sector people to make it more responsive and convert into policy board. The board considering other agenda items also decided to regularize all its contingent employees (staff cadre) who have completed five years continuous stay in TCP. This was decided in the light of political Governments desire of regularizing services of all temporary/contingent employees.
