LAHORE - A 25-year-old youth was gunned down over old enmity in Misri Shah police limits on Monday. According to police, the deceased later identified as Zaheer Abbas was the resident of Salaar Manda in PS Khankan Dogran, Sheikhupura. Talking to The Nation, SHO Police Station Misri Shah Mian Asghar said 12 people had already been murdered from both side over different disputes. He said the deceased had parked his vehicle at a chowk after attending a session in Anti-Terrorist Court when at least six accused while riding on motorbikes opened fires on him. As a result, Zaheer sustained sever bullet injuries and died on the spot, the SHO added. Edhi ambulance shifted the body to the City morgue for autopsy. An FIR was also lodged against six accused including Altaf alias Taafi on the statement of Tanveer, brother of Altaf, with no arrest till filing of this report. Further investigations were underway.
