KARACHI  - The Sindh police to launch a drive against the use of unauthorized blue revolving lights on the vehicles as well as against the use of fancy number plates.

Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) Karachi, Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh has issued directives for action against the private vehicles with unauthorised lights. He also directed the police officers to ensure action against the vehicles with fancy number plates and that such vehicles be impounded.

According to an official handout, issued here Friday, the AIGP Karachi further instructed that as far as the vehicles displaying the number plates- Applied for Registration (AFR), is concerned the letter issued by the Excise and Taxation Department should be checked or else such vehicles be also impounded. He also appealed to the people to voluntarily remove the tinted glasses or else a vigorous campaign would be initiated after 15 days and that such vehicles would also be impounded.

Police impound US consulate vehicle with tinted glasses: Karachi police on Friday impounded a vehicle of American consulate with tinted glasses.

Police have confirmed that they have taken the vehicle of an employee of the US consulate into custody. The vehicle is being seized due to its tinted glasses in Hyderi area of the City.
