LAHORE – The Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) has announced 210 candidates for the forthcoming general elections.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the JUP’s 32 and 77 candidates will contest on national and provincial assemblies from Punjab, respectively.

These are included; Sahibzada Mohammad Zubair from NA 138 Kasur, Sahibzada Shah Mohammad Awais Norani from NA 54 Rawalpindi, Qari Zawar Bahadur from NA 124, 126 Lahore, Malik Bashir Nizami from NA 119 Lahore, Hafiz Saeed Ahmed from NA 57 Attok, Allama Mohammad Iqbal Azhari from NA 149 Multan, Sajjad Ahmed Khan from NA 133 Sheikhupura, Rao Azmat Ullah Khan NA 165 Pakpatan, Mufti Muhammad Tasaduq from NA 125 Lahore, Syed Asghar Ali Shah from NA 123 Lahore, Mufti Abdul Shakoor from NA 82 Faisalabad, Tariq Maqsood NA 113 Sailkot, Tauqeer Ahmed from NA 111 Sailkot, Syed Wilayat Ali Shah from NA 110 Sailkot, Hafiz Munawar Hussain NA 106 Gujrat. 

Likewise, Sardar Shahbaz Ahmed Dogar will be the candidate of JUP from PP 166 and 167 Sheikhupura, Mohammad Ismail from PP 164 Sheikhupura, Iqbal Azeem Bhatti from 171 Sheikhupura, Mohammad Javed Qadri from PP 169 Sheikhupura, Mian Iftikhar Watoo from PP 227 Pakpatan, Syed Ijaz Shah from PP 230 Pakpatan, Rao Azmat Ullah Khan from PP 228 Pakpatan, Mohammad Sharif Dogar from PP 176 Kasur, Hafiz Liaqat Ali from PP 153 Lahore, Munir Qadri from PP 155 Lahore, Qari Liaqat Ali from PP 144 Lahore, Asrar Ahmed from PP 145 Lahore, Mufti Abdul Shakoor Rizvi from PP 66 Faisalabad, Abdul Sattar Norani from PP 69 Faisalabad, Shabeer Ahmed PP 91 Gujranwala, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman from PP 93 Gujranwala and Mohammad Junaid from PP 92 Gujranwala.

The JUP’s 20 and 33 candidates will contest general election from Sindh on national and provincial assemblies, respectively. Likewise, four candidate for national assembly seats and 10 for provincial assembly seats will contest election from Balochistan. Whereas, JUP’s nine and 21 candidates will try their luck on national and provincial assembly seats from KPK.
