HAFIZABAD - PML-N and PPP in Hafizabad received serious blow on Friday when a century-old political family of Kolo Tarar announced parting ways with PML-N and supporting candidates of Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti in the district.
In this connection, powerful family members of first Muslim member from Punjab in the Viceroy Council, Late Khan Buhadur Ataullah Khan Tarar and former MNA/MPA Late Mian Saifullah Khan Tarar and close relatives of former Federal Parliamentary Secretary Ch Afzal Hussain Tarar and his daughter outgoing MNA Saira Afzal Tarar, invited Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti, arch-rival of Afzal Hussain Tarar in their village and announced their unconditional support for his group's candidates in all the five NA and PA constituencies.
On the occasion, Ch Mamoon Jafar Tarar, Farooq Jafar Tarar, Haroon Jafar Tarar grandsons of Mian Saifullah Tarar and Muhammad Noman Tarar grandson of Khan Buhadar Ataullah Khan Tarar, said that since the death of Mian Saifullah Tarar their family members and supporters supported Afzal Hussain Tarar and his nominees in every elections but he had disappointed them. Keeping in view, the pro-people and pro-development attitude of Bhatti group, they have decided to support it without any condition.
Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti, former Federal Minister Ch Liaqat Abbas Bhatti (Candidate for NA-103), former Provincial Minister Shoukat Ali Bhatti (Candidate for NA-102), former MPA Dr Muzafar Ali Sheikh (Candidate for PP-105) have thanked them for their unconditional support and assured them that they would continue serving the people of Hafizabad to the best of their capabilities. More than two hundred ex-Councillors of Union Council Kolo Tarar and over 50 villagers attended the function.
Earlier, Arbab Akram Awan Vice-President Provincial People Youth Council, Malik Babar Awan Divisional President MSF-N, Former MC Councillor Malik Ajmal Awan, Malik Sadakat Hayat and Malik Muhammad Anwar Awan of Garhi Awan (close relations of Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan former MPA (PPP) who has recently flown to PML-N) have announced their decision to support the candidates of Ch Mehdi Bhatti group in the district.
The joining of these two powerful families has changed the political scenario particularly in NA-102, PP-105 & 106. Meanwhile, the tug-of-war is continued between old PML-N worker Rana Saleem Shakir and PML-N new entrant Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan to get PML-N ticket for PP-105.
