ISLAMABAD - A four-member committee comprising representatives of Ministry of Water & Power, Finance and Petroleum and chaired by Principal Secretary to Prime Minister (PSPM) has been constituted to review entire power sector and suggest recommendations so that the issues relating to power generation and distribution can be addressed.

This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso at Prime Minister’s house this afternoon. The meeting was also attended by representatives from Ministry of Petroleum, Water and Power, Finance, WAPDA and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and senior officials of Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The Prime Minister said that power is a very critical issue, which has far reaching impact on the economy and daily life of the people. He directed the committee to come up with concrete recommendations within three days.

The Prime Minister directed Ministry of Water & Power to increase its operational effectiveness through better supervision and management of the available resources so that effectiveness of power sector can be increased.
