SHEIKHUPURA - The PTI leadership has announced its decision to award tickets in five National Assembly and eight Punjab Assembly seats, disappointing the local leaders and activists of the party.

In NA-131, the party candidate is Brigadier (r) Rahat Amanullah while Malik Sarfraz Ayyaz was named for NA-132, Abubaker Mushtaq Virk for NA-133, Shafqat Kujjar Jatt for NA-134, Arshad Sahi for NA-135 and Ch Muhammad Yaqoob for NA-136.

For the provincial assembly seats, the PTI ticket-holders are: Tayyab Zaman Dhilon for PP-162, Amir Ahmad Gujjar for PP-163, Fayyaz Ahmad Bhatti for PP-164, Rao Jehanzeb Qavi Khan for PP-165, Meraj Khalid Gujjar for PP-166, Mian Shafiq Ashrafi for PP-167, Kanwar Imran Saeed for PP-168 and Zulqarnain Dogar Advocate for PP-169.

Former parliamentarians Saeed Virk, Khalid Mehmood, Rana Anwarul Haq, Mian Jalil Ahmad Sharqpuri, Abid Chattha and Mian Shamim Haider had joined the PTI after quitting PML-Q to get the PTI ticket.  The party leadership did not accommodate them. Therefore, the politicians have decided to contest the elections independently.

Drive against profiteers: On the special direction of DCO Ali Jan Khan, Sharqpur Assistant Commissioner Dr Lubna Nazeer launched special campaign against profiteers and hoarders.

While talking to this scribe here, the AC warned all the fuel station owners to avoid adulteration in petroleum products and short measuring otherwise strict action would be taken against them. She urged the traders to cooperate with the TMA Sharqpur staffers and follow the price list to facilitate the general public.
