KARACHI - On the directives of Supreme Court, law enforcers on Friday claimed to have arrested at least 78 suspects in different target operations.

According to details, rangers conducted a raid on a tip-off for militants of the banned outfit in Al-Asif Square.

They managed to arrest at least 23 suspects, including the operatives of banned outfits and recovered a huge amount of weapons from their possession.

At least 500 hundred personnel of rangers participated in the operation. During the operation, rangers seized the entry and exit points of the area.  Moreover, rangers conducted targeted operation in Chanisar Goth area of Quaidabad and managed to apprehend at least 18 suspects and recovered 3 TT pistols from their possession.

 Separately, as many as 55 suspects were taken into custody during targeted operations in Sikander Goth area of Sacchal, Chanisar Goth area of Mehmodabad. The operation was conducted by police while suspects were taken to the different police stations for questioning.

It is pertinent to mention here that hundred of suspects have been picked up on daily basis and most of them were released after questioning and investigation while weapons recovered during the operations were licensed. These licensed weapons have also been returned after scrutiny.
