LAHORE – Two more Punjab caretaker ministers took oath at a ceremony in the Governor House Friday. Governor Makhdum Ahmed Mahmud administered oath to Jamshed Rehmatullah and Qaisar Zulfiqar Khan. Chief Minister Najam Sethi, secretaries and officials attended the event. The governor and the chief minister congratulated the new ministers. Earlier, Sethi held a meeting with Mahmud and discussed administrative matters.

New CS takes over:  The newly appointed Punjab Chief Secretary Javed Iqbal, took over on Friday. He replaced Nasir Mehmood Khosa who was posted as Federal Secretary Finance. Following the takeover,  Iqbal called on caretaker CM Najam Sethi. Sources say that the CM gave freehand to reshuffle the bureaucracy for fair and peaceful conduct of elections in the province.

They said on his first day at office, senior officers met him and informed him about the homework done following the ECP directives.  The services wing of the Chief Secretary office has already prepared lists of officers, their tenure on different slots and their alleged parsimony with the past provincial ruling party.

Some senior bureaucrats expressed their apprehensions over likely reshuffle, saying that the transfers and postings would be wastage of money in the form of allowances.
