Rawalpindi - The Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) organised ‘Dog & Pet Gala’ near Yamaha Chowk, Humak-Kahuta Road, on Sunday.

Director General (DG) ANF Major General Khawer Hanif was the chief guest on the occasion.

The basic purpose of the event was to provide healthy recreation and inculcate love for nature, hence negating evils of society including addiction. Almost 110 dogs of different breeds were presented, which included German shepherd, Labrador, Rott Weiller, Pug, Puddle, Terrier, Delmation, and Pointer.

The event included open invitation for pet-lovers, family outing, music-followers and food-fans, which was overwhelmingly attended by walk-in families, youth, schools students and pet lovers.

ANF sniffing dogs presented a live demonstration for detection of narcotics in a vehicle. Acrobats show, singers’ performance, live-prototypes of Mister Been and different cartoons were made part for children interest. The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony with awards to best veteran, best cross breed, best rescue dogs, most handsome dogs, prettiest dogs, most appealing eyes and junior most handlers. In addition, appreciation prizes and certificates also awarded to performers and organizers. DG ANF while addressing the event, emphasized to organize healthy activities in the society, for giving a way out to youth from social evils.
