Rawalpindi - Taking notice of public maladies, Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Zahid Saeed has directed National Logistic Cell (NLC) to complete renovation work of Murree Road from Committee Chowk to 6th Road within three weeks.

Commissioner has given this task to NLC to complete carpeting work of roads on Package-II of Metro Bus Service (MBS) Project within three weeks during a meeting held here on Sunday.

Following the instructions, NLC has sped up the carpeting work of Murree Road from Committee Chowk to 6th Road on war foot basis, an official of NLC told The Nation.

According to him, currently the installations of WASA, WAPDA, Sui Gas, PTCL and other departments have been creating hurdles in the pace of carpeting work and the NLC has the ability to make Murree Road novel within three weeks if the departments concerned shifted their installations, he added.

He added that NLC engineers and other staff have completed 95 per cent work of flyover of MBS Project (Package-II) from Committee Chowk to 6th Road whereas the work on ground have also been completed up to 70 per cent. “NLC is using high standard material that is imported from America, Italy, China and Germany to make the MBS station beautiful,” he said adding that the NLC would complete work on MBS Package-II within stipulated time period in a bid to provide relief to the commuters.
