Bilquis Mukhtar becomes PSP’s first female member

Former MPA and MQM leader Bilquis Mukhtar has become the first female leader to join Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP). Kamal asserts that ‘thousands of individuals’ are joining PSP now.
While addressing the press Mukhtar said that she had been listening to Mustafa Kamal and other PSP leaders.

“I have had these same feelings but they were buried. I was unable to take any decision,” she said. “On this occasion, as a woman I want to say that I have been a part of MQM for 25 to 30 years. We saw things with our own eyes and we tried to take them to the right path. But no one understood us.”

Bilquis Mukhtar said she has sacrificed a lot for MQM.

“We joined MQM and gave sacrifices for it. Altaf Hussain told us that he will give us an identity, but now we are called target-killers, extortionists and RAW agents,” she said. “Altaf only like those who agree with him no matter what. He only likes those who talk to him the way he wants them to.”

She said the MQM chief does not care about those who gave sacrifices for him.

“I want to give message to the all those workers of MQM who in private say the same things that Mustafa Kamal is saying. They should come out and say it openly,” she said. “Altaf has the habit of using his workers like tissue papers and a major example is Saulat Mirza.”

Bilquis Mukhtar claimed that Altaf Hussain does not respect women.

“The MQM chief has no respect for women, he disrespects them whenever he wants and talks about things which no respectable woman wants to hear about in public,” she said. “I want to say one thing that Urdu speaking people are not terrorists. Everyone has to own them and when their deprivations end, they will be prove themselves to be the best Pakistanis.”

Bilquis Mukhtar also announced her resignation as the Sindh Assembly MPA.

Former Karachi mayor Kamal returned to the city last month with a bombardment of allegations against his former party’s chief Altaf Hussain. The allegations included taking funding from Indian intelligence agency RAW, and misusing MQM workers.
Over the past month former MQM leaders Anis Kaimkhani, Dr Sagheer, Advocate Anis, Raza Haroon, Iftikhar Alam, Waseem Aftab and Mohammad Ali Brohi have joined PSP.

The party’s name was announced on March 23, and since then Pak Sarzameen Party's has opened offices in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.
