PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission has filed a reference against one Umar Hayat, Senior Auditor, District Account Office Shangla, on the charges of corruption and corrupt practices. He was accused for accumulating huge assets both moveable and immovable in his name, as well as in the name of his benamidar, which were disproportionate to his legal source of income.

According to a press release of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission issued in Peshawar on Tuesday, During investigation, it revealed that the accused Umar Hayat, son of Musafar Khan belongs to a poor family of district Shangla having weak financial condition. After holding a public office during his service, he has accumulated huge wealth. His legal assets amongst others included plots, bungalows, hotel, investment in insurance policies, investments in business vehicle purchase and unjustified bank transactions in different bank accounts, says the press release.
