ISLAMABAD  - CDA outclassed PIA by an innings and 39 runs in the Patrons Trophy Grade-II 2017-18 round three match here at the Pindi Stadium on Thursday.  

PIA were bowled out for 187 in their second innings with Fahad Iqbal playing the knock of 40. Kashif Ali bowled brilliantly and grabbed 6-55 while Umar Kiyani took 2-11.  

Earlier, CDA resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 203-3 and could score 366 losing all wickets in 82 overs.  

Faizan Riaz batted with authority and slammed 127 runs. Anwar Ali Khan captured 3-43, Aizaz Cheema 3-55 and Fahad Iqbal 2-31.  

Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz, CDA Director Sports Raza Khan and Assistant Director Sports Chaudhry Shahzad congratulated CDA team for carving out third straight victory in the event. They promised to provide the best possible facilities to the players and hoped the boys will continue their good show in the next matches and try to clinch the Patrons Trophy.  

It will take a miracle to Pak-Saudi to stand any chance against Army, who Army scored 142 without loss in their second innings here at Army Cricket Ground on Thursday. Army only played 22 overs in their second innings to score 142 with M Miqdad Hussain slamming unbeaten 73 and M Abdullah unbeaten 67.  

Earlier, Pak-Saudi resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 46-1 and were all out for 283 in 77.2 overs, thus conceded vital 54-run first innings lead. Raza-ul-Mustafa hit 64, Imtiaz Aslam 56 and M Imran 52. M Awais Zafar bagged 4-77, Khadim Jan 3-53 and Muzaffar Iqbal 3-75.  

At Diamond Ground, ZTBL thrashed sorry OGDCL by an innings and 9 runs. OGDCL resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 11-3 and were bowled out for 101 in 34.1 overs with M Naqash scoring 24. M Ali grabbed 4-43 and Munir-Ur-Rehman Tanzil 2-60.  

After follow-on, OGDCL could score 168 all out in 58.2 overs. Sohail Ahmed made fighting 65 while Syed Muzammil Shah hit 59. M Ali clinched 5-39 and Usman Ashraf 3-13.
