PESHAWAR - Activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Hazar Khuwani Ward, Friday held a protest demonstration against the unscheduled loadshedding on Friday. The demonstrators, led by Sher Ahmad, President PTI, Hazar Khuwani Ward, were holding banners and placards in their hands inscribed with slogans against Wapda. They also chanted full-throated slogans against the incumbent PPP and ANP govts at Sher Shah Soori Road, outside Peshawar Press Club. Addressing the protesters, Sher Ahmad termed the hours-long electricity loadshedding a joke with people in the hot summer, particularly in the holy month of Ramadan. He said that despite the tall claims of the incumbent govt that there would be no loadshedding during Sehr and Iftar but even then it still continued. The rates of electricity, he added, were increasing on monthly basis but the electricity loadshedding remained for 18 to 20 hours. He said if the loadshedding duration remained the same, people would be compelled to take to streets. He demanded of the government to stop the excessive loadshedding in Ramadan. He warned to launch a series of protest demonstrations across the province if the demand was not met.
