In a recent TV news it has been reported that 13 buffaloes were killed by an overhanging live electric wire at a height of 3 feet from ground. The gory images of 13 well bred dead buffaloes that were being taken to a farm after washing them in a pool was a sad spectacle. This speaks graphically of WAPDA employees criminal negligence in line maintenance when high tension wires are left hanging near the ground. The Chairman WAPDA ought to take serious notice of the incident and give compensation to the poor farmer in addition to hauling up WAPDA employees responsible for this horrible case which could have also resulted in human deaths as well. It appears WAPDA is rotting like our railways department. DR. MUHAMMAD YAQOOB BHATTI, Lahore, August 5.
