RAWALPINDI  – Rawalpindi Police under its efforts against drug smuggling have arrested six accused including two women and three constables of Race Course Police Station and recovered 5060 grams charras.
According to details, acting on a tip-off Saddar Baroni Police barricaded Girja road and signaled to stop two suspected vehicles but the driver of one Toyota Corolla vehicle managed to escape while the other one was stopped. After search, police recovered 5060 grams charras from the vehicle and arrested all the occupants of the vehicle including three police constables of Race Course Police Station namely Shakeel, Babar Shah and Saeed Ahmed along with Azeem resident of Mandi Bhaudin and two women.
The arrested accused informed that the vehicle escaped from the scene was being driven by constable Ishtiaq of Race Course Police Station and it had huge quantity of charras.
According to Rawalpindi Police spokesman, strict action in accordance with the law would be taken against police personnel and if in future anyone from police force is found indulged in any illegal activity would not be spared and awarded severe punishment according to law.
