At least five insurgents including a militant commander were killed in remote controlled bomb blast here in Bara on Monday.

According to official sources, unknown miscreants had planted a remote controlled explosives device by roadside in Akkakhel, tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency which exploded at the time when militants of banned Lashkar-e-Islam were on patrol. As a result of blast five militants including a commander of Lashkar-e-Islam, identified as Syed Rehman were killed on the spot. The security forces put the security cordon in the area and launched search operation but no arrest has been made. Local sources said that the incident was outcome of enmity between rival militants groups in the troubled agency.
