Govt cancels 2,000 passports, orders inquiry



PESHAWAR - The interior ministry has declared some 2,000 passports of the people hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas doubtful and ordered an inquiry into the matter.
According to sources, Federal government has declared 700 passports issued form different districts of KP and some 1,300 passports from the tribal belt doubtful and ordered law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter.
These 2,000 passports have been cancelled, however, it would be issued again to their holders if they are cleared in the probe.
Those people whose passports have been cancelled, are facing different kinds of charges like involvement in terrorism and ties with extremists.
