PESHAWAR - In order to press the government to stop hours long electricity loadshedding and condemn lodging of cases against its workers, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, Sunday called for holding weeklong protest demonstrations and rallies across the province from August 8.

Terming power outage, lodging cases and use of force against PTI workers, PTI has planned to holding province wide protests and rallies against what it said brutal act on the part of provincial government.  PTI provincial spokesman Shah Farman while talking to media persons said that it was due right of the people to protest in favour of their demands.

On the call of PTI, protests were held against load shedding across the province. But unfortunately, government registered cases against PTI’s workers, which was regrettable. To condemn this brutal act and again hold more protests against load shedding, a series of weeklong protests would begin from August 8. Theses protests would continue till August 17.

The PTI workers would hold demonstrations against government for not halting load shedding, which has paralyzed life. People have fed of protests, but to no avail, the government did nothing to overcome energy crisis in the country, he alleged.

He said that government must take back all cases lodged against PTI workers, otherwise the protest call could be extended. He appealed party workers to remain peaceful during these protests.

He said that protests would take place at all district headquarters and tehsil headquarters and it was expected that hundreds of party workers would attend it so that to press government to stop load shedding and take cases against PTI workers immediately.

He asked ANP government to stop humiliation of party workers.
