RAJANPUR - For the current financial year, the Dera Ghazi Khan Division commissioner has approved 19 development projects to be completed by the local members of the Punjab Assembly at a cost of Rs87.3 million, said the Rajanpur DCO.
In district Rajanpur, 58 other projects are included in annual development programme regarding education and health, construction of roads, water supply and sewerage and construction of rural sports grounds during 2012-13. He was presiding over a meeting held to review development projects in the committee room at his office.
In the meeting, DCO Ghazi Amanullah, RPO Muhammad Nawaz Warraich, DPO Dr Muhammad Asif Shahzad, Rana Muhammad Sleem, Muhammad Sarfraz Butt, Muhammad Azeem Gill, EDO (Works & Services) Abdur Rashid Malkani and DCO Agha Muhammad Hussain were also present. The commissioner asked the Rajanpur DCO to recruit necessary staff for Degree College, Roojhan, construct police checkposts and complete the projects regarding Baloch Levy on priority basis. In this meeting, the commissioner also reviewed the construction matter of a multi-purpose hall, computer lab. library, admin block, canteen, parking and guard room at Degree College, Jampur, at a cost of Rs35.8 million.
The Rajanpur DCO said 45 schools had been provided with basic facilities after spending Rs90 million. The commissioner directed the officials to establish a Rescue 1122 substation at Jampur. He also directed to provide the people with potable water.
Director (Colleges) Rana Masood Akhtar, Deputy Director Colleges Rafiq Hussain Haidri, SE Buildinbg, XEN Building, SDO Building and other officer were also present.
The commissioner termed the material used in the construction of admin block and in other projects substandard.
