Sindh government has moved Supreme Court (SC) against the judicial order regarding holding the local bodies elections within 90 days.
Advocate on Record filed the appeal at the apex court’s Karachi Registry on behalf of the provincial government. The Sindh government’s plea seeks the SC’s ruling to suspend the order by Lahore High Court (LHC) to hold local bodies elections in 90 days.
The plea prayed the court to stay the SHC’s order until a verdict comes on the appeal of the provincial government.
The plea furthermore states that local governments elections have not been held in other provinces as yet, adding however, Sindh government is currently in consultation process in this connection.
