ISLAMABAD - Minister of Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has blamed that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan wants to convert Pakistan into a country like Syria, Iraq and Gaza.

He was referring to Imran Khan’s planned march on Independence Day and termed it disastrous for the country. To avoid the confrontation that is expected on Independence Day, Ahsan said that the government was ready to choose Imran as the chairman of committee for electoral reforms. But he said that PTI’s agenda seems different and in reality Imran wants to topple the elected government. Ahsan said that Imran is not going to achieve his goals.

Ahsan while talking to the media outside the Parliament claimed, “Election Commission has solved 73 cases so far and it is happening for the first time in the history of Pakistan.” He said if Imran has objections regarding democratic system or elections then he should come to the parliament.

He warned Imran against following unconstitutional style of politics. Ahsan said that Imran should not do anything that may destabilise the democracy in the country. He resembled Imran with Pervaiz Elahi and Chaudhary Shujaat and said that Chaudhary Brothers played as puppets in the hands of some power and Imran is also playing in the hands of the same power. He, however, added that military establishment stands by the government. “If Imran has any complaint regarding rigging then he should come in election reforms committee and the government will welcome him,” Ahsan said.
