LAHORE -  Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued notice to Punjab Prosecutor General with directions to submit investigation record from police on bail application filed by Gullu Butt, accused of damaging vehicles and cars parked outside Minhajul Quran in Model Town.

A division bench headed by Justice Aalia Neelum heard the case. Gullu Butt through his counsel submitted that he was mentally unfit but police intentionally implicated him in the case.

He said the FIR against him was registered under bailable sections of the Pakistan Penal Code but after the pressure from different quarters it inserted sections of Anti-Terrorism Act and intention to murder. He stated that Gullu reacted in anger when he was attacked by people who were present there outside Minhajul Quran.

The petitioner said he was innocent and had no such bad intention but police took him into custody and registered FIR against him under the sections of anti-terrorism act.

He also pointed out that the trail court ignored the facts and rejected his bail application. Gullu requested the court to accept his bail application as he was mentally ill.
