LAHORE - Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) newly-appointed caretaker chairman Tuesday said he would not initiate any high profile activity in the board and his focus was on smooth conduct of elections for new chairman.

Justice (R) Sair Ali Shah, who was appointed caretaker chairman and Chief Election Commissioner for the elections within the board other day, said his topmost priority was to conduct the election of the board’s chairman according to its new constitution. “I want to fulfill my responsibility of handing over the reins of board to an elected chairman from the governing board members as soon as possible.”

He said he would not become a part of any long term or major decisions regarding board’s matters and would look after the day-to-day affairs only during his time in the board. He said there was no specific reason for not taking charge of his post yesterday (Tuesday) and he would try to carry out his responsibilities in same way as he had worked in the Supreme Court.
