KARACHI - Unveiling the third phase of struggle, Sindh Bachayo Committee, a united front of Sindh nationalist parties, on Tuesday announced holding a big protest rally on September 22 in Karachi against the influx of IDPs of North Waziristan in the province.

This was decided at a meeting of Sindh Bachayo Committee which met with its convener and chief of Sindh United Party, Jalal Mehmood Shah at his residence here.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of 12 nationalist groups including Dr Niaz Kalani of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Riaz Chandio of Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Karam Wasan of Awami Jamhori Party. The leaders of Jeay Sindh Tehreek, Sindh National Movement, Sindh National Party, Jeay Sindh Qaum Parast Party and others took part in the deliberations.

After the meeting, Shah said it was a conspiracy against the Sindh. “We will not allow anyone to sabotage the rights of the indigenous people,” he added.

He said the protest was being carried out against all anti-Sindh issues including the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Zulfikarabad, Thar Coal Project and Bahria Township. He said the committee had decided to continue its struggle against these issues continuously till all of its targets were achieved.

The nationalist leader said the arrival of the IDPs had stopped in Sindh after their protests were launched across the province last month. The law enforcement agencies have now taken notice of the severity of the issue.

Shah said the committee would launch a campaign to contact people across the province, before the protest, in order to ensure participation of thousands of people for the demonstration.  The struggle against religious extremism and influx of the IDPs in the Sindh will continue peacefully, he added.
