LAHORE- Leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) met at JI leader Mian Aslam’s residence in Lahore today to discuss ways to refrain PTI chief Imran Khan from holding anti-government ‘Azadi March’ on August 14 in Islamabad. Syed Khurshid Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq, Liaqat Baloch and Mian Aslam were all part of the meeting.
“We all are agreed on supremacy of law and constitution. We will contact other political forces to improve the situation,” Shah told journalists.
“We discussed political situation today, especially Imran Khan’s rally, we have underscored the need that we should play our role rather than serving as silent spectators. We think that holding protests and making demands is a legal and constitutional right of every political party,” Siraj-ul-Haq informed.
