President's busy schedule delays oath taking of FSC judges

ISLAMABAD - The recently appointed judges of Federal Shariat Court (FSC) are yet to be administered oath due to busy schedule of President Mamnoon Hussain, The Nation reliably learnt on Tuesday.
President Hussain appointed four judges of Federal Shariat Court on July 24, 2014. The new appointees include Zahoor Ahmad Shanwai as judge, Justice (Retd) Najm-Ul-Hassan as judge, Justice (Retd) Raiz Ahmad Khan as judge and Justice Dr Fida Muhammad Khan as Alim judge. The ministry of law, justice and human rights issued the notifications of all these four judges' appointment on July 24, 2014.
Earlier, the law division wrote a letter to President Hussain and mentioned in the letter that all four persons are appointed as judges/ Alim judge of Federal Shariat Court for a term of three years vide this division notification number 53(1)2014-A. The president is requested to administer oath of new judges himself or appoint chief justice FSC as his nominee for the purpose.
Well-placed sources in law division informed this scribe that division is still awaiting the response of the president for the oath taking of new judges. They said Secretary Law Barrister Zafarulah Khan wrote the letter to the president but the Presidency has not responded yet.
