State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has asked the opponents of the PML-N government to refrain from hatching conspiracies to derail democracy.

He said that the solution to all the problems should be found by sitting together instead of creating chaos in the country. Talking to journalists here at Multan Airport on Tuesday, he claimed that the government was not worried on Azadi march, adding that all democratic powers would jointly fight conspiracies hatched against democracy. To a query, he said that the government did not enforce Article 245 for any political motives.

“Army is not being utilised for achievement of any political goals. All political parties should refrain from making army controversial,” he added. To another question, he said that the issue of loadshedding  had been politicised by some elements but the government was determined to eliminate the problem through concerted efforts.

He added that a number of power production projects were underway and the country would soon become loadshedding-free. He declared that indiscriminate action would be taken against power pilferers.
