ISLAMABAD - Pakistan squash players Tayyab Aslam, Nasir Iqbal and Farhan Zaman Wednesday qualified for the second round of the $27,000 Australian Open being played in Melbourne. Tayyab carved out hard-fought 3-2 win against Irish qualifier Sean Conroy. Tayyab lost first game 10-12, but bounced back to win the second 11-7 and third 11-7 before losing the fourth 8-11. The Pakistani won the fifth and final game 11-3 to set second round clash with third seed Ryan Cuskelly. Fifth seed Nasir Iqbal brushed aside Argentinean Leandro Romiglio in straight games 11-5, 11-7, 11-8 to set second round date with compatriot Farhan Zaman. Farhan Zaman thrashed Scottish Dougie Kempsell 3-1. Farhan took the first game 11-7, lost the second 4-11 and won next two 11-8 and 11-6 to move into second round.–Staff Reporter
