Islamabad - Tarnol police have booked around 30 persons on the charges of extorting money from the transporters at bus stop Chungi Number 26. Jehanzeb Khan, a driver by profession, approached the police station and reported that Gul Zaman and some 28 other persons used to threaten them of dire consequences in case the drivers of public transport did not pay them Rs 300 to Rs 700 per day. He stated to the police that the accused were armed and demanded extortion from other drivers also. Police booked the accused under section 386, 387, 506 of the PPC and arrested 6 accused so far and efforts are under way for the arrest of the remaining accused. Meanwhile, one girl was electrocuted to death on Wednesday at Mohalla Chaudharian in the limits of Bara Kahu police station. Azilla Bibi died on the spot while her sister Naila Bibi got burn injuries and was shifted to the hospital.

Furthermore, Islamabad police has arrested 11 suspects during high vigilance in the city, a police spokesman said. According to details, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani directed all SDPOs and SHOs to enhance patrolling as well as checking in various areas of the city and conduct search operation at slum areas, Afghan habitats, under-construction buildings, workshops, bus stands and inns. 

Following his directions, teams of Golra and Bhara Kahu police stations conducted search in the area of Sector G-13 and Phulgran and succeeded to nab 11 suspects who are being investigated further.
