ISLAMABAD - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has designated Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani, as new ambassador to Pakistan. Ambassador Zahrani would take charge of the position that remained vacant for almost one year. Charge d Affairs of the Embassy has been officiating as KSA ambassador in Pakistan.

Today, Ambassador Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani paid his first courtesy call on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Fatemi welcomed the Ambassador-designate, expressed his best wishes for the success of his assignment in Pakistan and assured him of the fullest support of the Government of Pakistan in this regard.

He highlighted the special fraternal nature of relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He underscored that Pakistan wished to further enhance cooperation with the Kingdom in all areas of mutual interest.

The ambassador-designate expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he had received in Pakistan, which was reflective of the respect the people of Pakistan had for the brotherly people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He added that he was under instructions from his leadership to focus on further strengthening of bilateral ties with Pakistan in order to raise it to new levels of cooperation.

 During the meeting they exchanged views on ways to enhance bilateral relations, and the regional situation.
