MUZAFFARABAD - Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed on Wednesday has demanded of the govt to try Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain for treason.

“Enough is enough, he (Altaf) is a traitor, he is shouting against Pakistan on the behest of a foreign country,” Majeed said this while addressing a ceremony in Muzaffarabad.

He said that Altaf Hussain was passing derogatory statements against the country and national institutions on the behest of enemies of Pakistan.

“Foreign powers are using MQM chief to fan violence in Karachi and defame Pakistan’s Armed Forces which are struggling hard to purge the port city of terrorists and criminals,” he said.

He said that Pakistan was passing through difficult times as its enemies are conspiring to destabilise the country.

“The enemies do not want Pakistan to become economically stable and want to sabotage mega projects like China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Gwadar Port and Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline,” he stated.

An international conspiracy is being hatched to destabilise the country,” he added. He said; “India is Pakistan’s enemy and it does not like to see Pakistan prosperous and stable while a prosperous Pakistan can guarantee liberation of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He demanded of Adviser to Prime Minister on Affairs Sartaj Aziz to take up the Kashmir issue with Indian leadership boldly during his visit to New Delhi and should not budge an inch from its principled stance.

“We will give every sacrifice for the solidarity and security of the country and will stand shoulder to shoulder with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leadership for the cause of Kashmir,” he said.

He said Kashmiri leaders on both sides of the divide are on one page after the martyrdom of Afzal Guru and will remain united till liberation of AJK from the Indian subjugation. Minister of Education Mian Abdul Maheed, Minister Electricity Faisal Rathore, Secretary Electricity Fayyaz Ali Abbasi also addressed the ceremony.
