LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Wednesday allowed a petition seeking transfer of Daska killings trial from a female judge of Anti Terrorism Courts of Gujranwala to any other judge.

Shahzad Warraich, former station house officer of Daska police station, filed the petition expressing distrust on the presiding judge of the trial court.

He alleged that the judge was not holding trial fairly and impartially. He asked the chief justice to transfer the trial to any other judge of the ATC.

Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik heard the case. He observed that fair trial was a right of every suspect. The chief justice accepted the petition and allowed transfer of the trial to any other judge.
