LAHORE - The district government has finalised arrangements to celebrate Independence Day with great national zeal.

These views were expressed by DCO Lahore Capt (r) Muhammad Usman on Wednesday. He said that main function of Independence Day would be held at Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort). He further said that the CDGL on August 12, ‘International Youth Day’ along with ‘Youth Revolution Clan’, will organise award ceremony for icons.

Moreover, fireworks shows in the mid-night of 13th and 14th August at Minar-e-Pakistan, Model Town Ground and Race Course Park will be arranged. There will also be musical performances on August 14 at Faisal Chowk and Liberty Chowk in which renowned singers will perform, he added.

The DCO further said that the CDGL would also organise a Student Cycle Race, which will start from Qaddafi Stadium and will end at Siddique Trade Centre.

Similarly, the students of National College of Arts in collaboration with CDGL will organise an exhibition in connection with Independence Day.

Nine Towns along with Rescue 1122, Social Welfare Department and University students will ply floats on city roads, which will be decorated with national flags and pictures of national heroes, he added.
